With its 15 cm (6-inch) guide bar and ¼” Picco Micro 3 (PM3) saw chain, the GTA 30 delivers smooth, low-vibration cutting with excellent control. The extended bar length offers extra reach for thicker branches, while the compact body and 1.9 kg weight make it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces or at awkward angles.
The ergonomic handle has a rubberised, non-slip grip that feels secure and comfortable during prolonged use. Its two-handed design ensures full stability and accuracy, while the asymmetrical protective hood keeps you safe and maintains a clear line of sight while cutting.
Advanced Battery System and Reliable Power
The GTA 30 is powered by two AS 2 lithium-ion batteries from the STIHL AS System, which discharge together to maintain constant cutting power right until the batteries are empty. This intelligent energy management means there’s no noticeable loss of performance, even as the charge level drops.
An LED charge-level display on the top of the tool shows remaining battery life at a glance, helping you plan your work efficiently. On a full charge, the GTA 30 can achieve up to 180 cuts in 5 cm branches, making it an excellent choice for large gardens and ongoing maintenance work.
Recharging is quick and efficient using the AL 5-2 dual charger, which restores both batteries to full power in around 50 minutes.
Quick, Tool-Free Maintenance
Chain maintenance is fast and straightforward thanks to STIHL’s automatic chain tensioning system. Simply fold out the handle on the sprocket cover and turn it 90° to automatically set the correct chain tension — no tools or manual adjustments required.
For lubrication, apply a small amount of the included STIHL Multioil Bio (50 ml) directly onto the chain to keep it running smoothly and reduce wear.

The lightweight, balanced design ensures comfortable operation over long periods, while the flexible chain guard provides protection without restricting visibility.
